Justin Timberlake draws the line at his son being in One Direction.

The Can’t Stop the Feeling singer and his actress wife Jessica Biel welcomed Silas into the world last April (15) and have been enjoying every moment of parenthood since. From cute antics to silly outfits, the couple often share photos of the tot on their Instagram pages, though Justin isn’t insistent that Silas follows him into the spotlight when he’s older.

“No,” he replied when asked by Red magazine whether he fantasises about the youngster one day rejecting fame and picking an ordinary career. “I just feel like I’m trying to stand in the middle and look at both sides of it, and not go too far in one direction.”

“No, he can’t be in One Direction,” he laughed when the interviewer suggested Silas join the band. “That’s where I’m drawing my line! Hahaha, no, he could – if it’s something he’s passionate about, who am I to tell him? He could be a marine biologist and I’ll figure out how to help him do that.”

But as the 35-year-old has watched his son develop over the last year and a half, he’s also had to bid farewell to some people in his life. The death of icon Prince earlier this year (Apr16) left Justin shocked as, while the pair spent much time together, the Little Red Corvette singer became somewhat of a musical father to him. Justin admits he cried hard when learning of his passing, because the few times they met up felt “so rich”.

“Maybe too I was hypersensitive in those moments, and was able to take in every little thing that he said or did,” Justin recalled. “I think even people who just saw him play a concert could feel that.”
