Director Guy Ritchie's teenage son Rocco with ex-wife Madonna is reportedly following in his father's professional footsteps.

The 16-year-old is no longer at the centre of a custody dispute between his Papa Don't Preach singer mother and his moviemaker dad, as the superstar parents came to an official guardianship agreement on Wednesday (07Sep16).

From now on Rocco is expected to be living primarily with his father in London and Guy is supposedly easing his son's transition by inviting the teenager to participate in his film projects.

“Rocco is really developing his creativity with his dad," a source tells British newspaper The Mirror. "He is allowed to give his input and ideas around the film work. He’s really flourishing because he’s involved and being a part of things."

Last December (15), Madonna and former husband Guy become embroiled in transatlantic legal battle over the custody of their son after Rocco refused to return to his mother's home in New York following a visit with his London-based dad for the Christmas holidays.

Apparently part of the reason why he was so insistent on staying with his father was so he could learn some industry skills from Sherlock Holmes director Guy.

“Now he’s getting involved with his dad’s work he feels like he’s got an outlet and has become very excited about the prospect of working in films," the insider details. “It’s what he really needed, to be involved with his father and his world in London, and be allowed to throw in his ideas and have them taken seriously. They’ve got a really great bond, and this has been a large factor in his determination to stay with Guy. When Rocco was on tour with his mum he struggled to feel really involved – obviously all eyes were on Madonna and there weren’t many chances for him to express himself."
