Today, Spotify announces the songs that dominated summer listening, with Drake’s “One Dance” taking the number one spot, globally. In second place globally is Calvin Harris (featuring Rihanna) with “This Is What You Came For”, while Sia’s “Cheap Thrills” rounds out the top three.
In the U.K., Drake dominated the nation’s summer listening, taking the top two spots of the most-listened to songs of the summer, with “One Dance” and “Too Good” respectively. Calvin Harris took the third spot with “This Is What You Came For” featuring Rihanna, while “This Girl” by Kungs & Cookin’ On 3 Burners was the fourth most listened to song of the summer in the U.K.
The songs of the summer were identified by looking at Spotify’s most listened to tracks between June 1st and August 31st, 2016.
