All Points East’s third year of announcements begins with a very special comeback and one of our most requested acts.
Recently sharing the news of their first album in 5 years and with 3 singles released so far in 2019, Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker has teased one of the most anticipated returns in music for 2020.
The Slow Rush will arrive Valentine’s Day 2020, ahead of the band’s All Points East debut on May 23rd where fans will hear the new songs live for the first time in the UK.
In an All Points East exclusive, this will be Tame Impala’s only UK show in 2020.
It follows their most acclaimed album, 2015’s Currents which took the band to global prominence, huge festival stages and dance floors - and won a BRIT Award for Best International Group. Parker was sought out for studio collaborations with Mark Ronson, Lady Gaga, Kanye West and Travis Scott. In April this year, Tame Impala headlined Coachella and The O2, London, in June and sold out 2 shows at New York’s Madison Square Garden in August, underlining the global demand for the band’s inter-dimensional live shows.
After all that, Parker was ready to unveil new material and brand new song ‘It Might Be Time’ was released in October to herald the new LP, channeling 70s Supertramp synth melodies via Tame Impala’s familiar psych pop, perfectly previewing the riches to come.

Parker told the New York Times earlier this year, “A lot of the songs carry this idea of time passing, of seeing your life flash before your eyes, being able to see clearly your life from this point onwards. I’m being swept by this notion of time passing. There’s something really intoxicating about it.”
After 5 years of complete silence, Caribou's return is highly anticipated as he joins the All Points East bill. His new single 'Home' is his first new material for half a decade and expect to hear even more in the buildup to May 23. The Canadian musician’s previous album, Our Love, appeared on multiple end-of-year lists, was shortlisted for 2015's Polaris Music Prize and was even nominated for a Grammy award for Best Dance/Electronic Album in 2016. Expect a spectacular multi-sensory show at Victoria Park.
Glass Animals have also recently returned with a new single, 'Tokyo Drifting' ft. Denzel Curry. The 4-piece psychedelics have truly proven themselves to be an unmissable live band, fusing lead singer Dave Bayley’s falsetto vocals with indie-rock and electronic undertones, and have performed on multiple international TV shows with Jools Holland, James Corden and Jimmy Kimmel. They are also winners of two categories at the 2018 MPG Awards for UK Album of the Year and Self Producing Artist of the Year, and also shortlisted for a Mercury Prize for second studio album, How To Be A Human Being.
Also featuring is American band Whitney. Since their lush, sun-blushed debut album, Light Upon The Lake – featuring fan favourites such as ‘No Woman’ and ‘Golden Days’ - the band have quickly become a household name both on the radio / streaming sites and in the festival circuit. Their 2019 album Forever Turned Around offered a similar sonic palette comprised of gorgeous ballads and folk-rock guitars, providing the perfect backdrop to a warm, glowing day in Victoria Park.
Australian indie-rock band Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever released their debut full-length album, Hope Downs in June 2018, receiving rave reviews including an 8.1 from Pitchfork – who described it as an “infectious brand of motorik jangle rock that’s both warmly nostalgic and thrillingly unpredictable.” It will no doubt be an equally unexpected, high-energy live offering at All Points East.
Kelly Lee Owens’ 2017 self-titled debut LP was one of the year’s standout releases, earning exceptional reviews and topping numerous ‘Best Albums of The Year’ lists - and rightly so. It was an album that effortlessly fused pointed, techno / electronica textures with Kelly’s floating vocals, also creating a thrilling live experience that is loud, unrestrained and unique. Since then, she’s been releasing a stirring selection of singles and EPs with no doubt more to come ahead of her appearance on May 23.
Canadian electronica stalwarts Holy F have announced their new album, Deleter, is coming January 2020. They have played huge festivals over the years internationally including SXSW, Lollapalooza, Coachella, Glastonbury and will now be taking on All Points East in the summer. Current single 'Luxe' (featuring former All Points East name Alexis Taylor of Hot Chip) is already feeling like a soundtrack for next year’s festival season.

Last year, All Points East built on the success of year one, bringing huge headliners together with brand new artists, the hottest buzz acts on the planet, multi genre innovators and the Victoria Park community, for 10 days of discovery.
The event gave first festival headlining opportunities to Christine And The Queens and Bring Me The Horizon, brought The Strokes to the UK for the first time in 4 years, celebrated Chemical Brothers’ new album and saw Mumford & Sons triumph before Bon Iver closed the festival, exclusively debuting two new tracks from his now released new album i,i.
Incredible headliners were just part of the story with the quality of artists running very deep indeed – Primal Scream, The Raconteurs, Hot Chip, Rina Sawayama, James Blake, Kate Tempest, Metronomy, Snail Mail, Mac DeMarco, Maribou State, Jarvis Cocker, Toro Y Moi, Dizzee Rascal, Jade Bird, Ezra Furman and Run The Jewels were just some of the many guests performing across the stages at All Points East.
