BBC Music Introducing LIVE is one of the UK’s biggest and most exciting music industry events, supporting and inspiring the next generation of music industry leaders.

BBC DJS IN ATTENDANCE…

There will be a whole host of top BBC talent in attendance, including BBC Radio 2’s Jo Whiley and Jamie Cullum, BBC Radio 6 Music’s Mary Anne Hobbs, Gilles Peterson, Steve Lamacq and Tom Robinson, and BBC Radio 1’s Huw Stephens. Plus, there will be live broadcasts from a purpose-built studio at BBC Music Introducing LIVE going out on BBC radio stations across the three days.

Digging deep into some of the most influential albums and songs ever produced, hearing from the people behind the music, this is an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding into some of the greatest albums of all time, the songs and the musicians who brought it all to life.

Tell Us How It Is – BBC Music Introducing LIVE is brimming with opportunities to hear from experts in the world of music. Now, attendees will have the chance to offer their advice to the industry. A unique chance to discuss experiences, thoughts for change, any areas and issues which could be improved upon – this is an open forum for everyone to create more opportunity and an open, diverse and inclusive environment for all.

Get face to face with the music business at BBC Music Introducing LIVE’s ‘Face To Face’ Networking Sessions. Whether you’re looking for a job in the industry, or advice on your own music, this is the chance to speak with major players.

For those making their first steps in the music industry, the guidance and advice of a mentor can be invaluable. At BBC Music Introducing LIVE, Meet A Mentor will give mentees the opportunity to pair up with mentors from the industry to help with impartial advice, careers advice and counsel in more challenging times.

Leading companies from the world of music will be in attendance at the event, to share information on apprenticeships and paid internship programmes. Hear from employers, as well as people who are on the programmes right now.

SESSIONS FOR WHATEVER STAGE IN YOUR MUSIC INDUSTRY CAREER…

BBC Music Introducing LIVE will offer hundreds of sessions catering for those starting out in the industry, and next steps, all the way through to those which will inspire people of all levels in music.

For those starting out, there will be panels specific to jobs within the music industry, offering insight into the multitude of areas to explore. These include ‘What Does It Take To Start Out In A&R’, ‘Meet The Artist Managers’, ‘Meet The Music PRs’, ‘Jobs in a Label – Who Does What?’ and ‘How Do You Get a Job As A Music Promoter’.

For a deeper delve into the world of music, there are sessions focusing on ‘The Mistakes I Made’ – hard lessons it takes to become a great manager, a chance to hear artist booking agents talking about the artists who taught them the most in ‘The Artist That Changed It All’, and inspiration from top entrepreneurs disrupting the industry and doing it by themselves in the ‘Want To Do It Yourself?’ session.

Musicians will see many more practical sessions helping them develop their craft, and hear from the top experts on ‘The Art of Songwriting’, getting tips on ‘Making The Most Of Your Studio Time’, ‘Finding Your Sound as a Producer’, as well as topics like how to ‘Get Noticed in a Crowded Market’, plus advice on ‘Looking After Your Mental Health on the Road’.

Plus, there will be even more opportunities for musicians to perform at BBC Music Introducing LIVE in 2019, with details on how to get involved released soon. Attendees can also expect surprise performances from top UK and global artists, live showcase slots and surprise guest appearances across the three days. Last year, there were secret surprise performances from the likes of Clean Bandit, Tom Grennan, David Gray and Declan McKenna and huge live music events each evening, with Ben Howard and Deadmau5 taking to the stage to perform.

It has been announced today that further support for BBC Music Introducing LIVE comes from The Mayor Of London and Arts Council England. Official Partners for 2019 include Spotify, the world’s most popular music streaming subscription service, who will take up residence in The Discovery Theatre. Other official partners include Marshall, Yamaha and Association of Independent Music (AIM), and other 2019 partners Shure, CD Baby and The Academy of Contemporary Music (ACM).
