One of the nation’s favourite family-friendly festivals, The Big Feastival, proudly presented by NEFF, returns to the Cotswolds this August Bank Holiday with a bumper line-up of entertainment and all-round family fun that will see kids of all ages jumping for joy and eagerly packing their camping kit in preparation!

With entertainment from children’s TV characters to creative workshops and exhilarating activities, there’s something for everyone to enjoy throughout the weekend.

Children’s TV Favourites

Quadruple BAFTA-winning and legendary duo Dick & Dom will be taking over the Main Stage on Friday to kick off the festival with their unique brand of fun and games. Saturday will see Peppa Pig and her little brother George take to the stage to introduce a very special screening of their brand new festival episode, while children’s TV megastar Justin Fletcher will be kicking off the Sunday entertainment with hits to get everyone dancing.

But that’s not all! Elsewhere, The Big Feastival will play host to kids’ favourites including Paw Patrol’s Chase and Marshall and the amazingly speedy superhero Catboy from PJ Masks.

Farmyard Friends

Families will also have the chance to make new furry and feathered friends on the farm, courtesy of local legend Adam Henson and his Cotswold Farm Park, who will be bringing some of their farmyard friends to spread the word about the importance of British farming.

Musical Magic and Foodie Workshops

Little ones enthused by the sounds of the music stages can head down to visit The Orchestra of Objects, which will provide a visual and aural feast for all ages to immerse themselves in giant sound sculptures. Elsewhere, Music Bus will be encouraging everyone to pick up an instrument and Albert’s Band will be making a special trip from The Royal Albert Hall to the festival for the first time, to host daily workshops inspired by our headliners Rudimental, Jess Glynne and Elbow - budding musicians need look no further!

Not forgetting the food, little ones can help put the Feast into ‘Feastival’ by taking a trip to the Home Farm Highgrove Allotment to pick fresh ingredients for hands-on cookery classes in NEFF’s Little Kitchen. Designed to encourage the next generation of chefs, these sessions offer little ones the chance to learn about fresh ingredients first-hand, how to prepare them, and how to make their very own foodie creations. The brilliant Oxford Food Bank will also be on hand to share their story and encourage families to do their bit to cut down on food waste.

New Skills and Thrills

The Big Feastival will present a full programme of workshops for kids to express their creativity, including special sessions with the Royal Shakespeare Company who will be hosting workshops around their 2019 family musical, The Boy in the Dress, adapted from the novel by David Walliams.

For all those kids who have dreams of running away and joining the circus, they‘ll have their chance with Jitterbug Circus who will be running their interactive circus shows with stilt walking, juggling, unicycles and clown bikes all in the mix. Joining them will be Zu Aerial, ready to teach youngsters the art of flying with our onsite trapeze!

Family Fun Hot Spots

The Big Top will return and it’s bigger than ever, offering a one-stop-shop for little Feastival-goers to dance, sing and even karate-chop all weekend-long with Pyjama Drama, Tatty Bumpkin Yoga, Zumbini, Ninja Tots and Baby Bhangra to name just a few fun activities.

Brand new for 2019, The Playground will play host to children’s charity, The Flying Seagull Project, who work to put smiles on children’s faces the world over and will be bringing their special brand of magic to The Big Feastival, with their Wild Cactus Hoedown, Comedy Corner, Magical Mayhem and Bonkers Balloons shows. The incredible SuperPirates, known for their kids’ raves, insane inflatables and very messy play will also call The Playground home throughout the weekend – parents will definitely be tempted to join in the fun!

Also joining the line-up for the first time is The Studio, catering for teens and adults with its programme of wellness and fun fitness sessions. Whether you are starting out your yoga career, are a hula pro or fancy a Clubbercise class, drop in to dance, cheer and stretch your way through the day.

Just over the fence, The Udder Stage will host the talent competition everyone is talking about – Feastival’s Got Talent, calling all budding rock stars, comedians and dancers to take to the stage! Tiny dancers will also enjoy the ultimate kid’s disco over at The Bandstand, with dress up boxes on hand to really enhance that festival feeling.

Other activities you won’t want to miss include The Makery arts tent, Tree Climbing, willow weaving and fire workshops with West Country Bushcraft, the Vintage Funfair, Pop-Up Performers, our Festival Parade and early evening marshmallow toasting sessions around The Campfire, amongst much more.

Family Facilities

The Big Feastival will be welcoming back When Nature Calls with luxury vacuum toilets, hair wash and styling facilities, so that everyone can feel their freshest over the festival weekend. The ultimate Parents Pit Stop will also be on hand with nappy changing facilities, quiet feeding areas and microwaves to warm up food or bottles for little ones.

While every caterer offers child-friendly dishes on their menu, the dedicated Family Dining Room offers a sheltered space for families to dine with optional high chairs and if children are all Feastival-ed out, The Little Top will provide a quiet space of calm for those who need a break from all the activities while they recharge their batteries and get ready to go again!
