The first major festival of the year has seen many of this year’s Reading and Leeds Festival acts wowing crowds in the Californian desert, with many of them live streaming their sets on YouTube to huge global audiences and teasing what’s in store this August bank holiday.
Warming up ahead of their appearances at Richfield Avenue, Reading and Bramham Park, Leeds, The 1975 and Billie Eilish were standout shows amongst other critically-acclaimed performances from fellow Reading and Leeds artists Anderson .Paak & the Free Nationals, Camelphat, Chvrches, King Princess and Juice WRLD.
On the back of her Coachella debut, Billie Eilish has already been tipped as a headliner for the future as well as the “future of pop” (NME); Reading and Leeds festival-goers will be able to catch her set and judge for themselves. UK indie-rockers The 1975 invited fellow festival artist, and labelmate, No Rome, to join them to perform his own song Narcissist for what was his Coachella debut.
Also there to cheer on the bands was Yorkshire-born Reading and Leeds performer Yungblud who was pictured with his girlfriend Halsey and also caught up with Billie Eilish backstage.
