BBC Music Introducing LIVE is back, returning to London’s Tobacco Dock on 31 October – 2 November 2019. Following an inspiring three days of talks, panels, performances, masterclasses and more last year, the event returns for 2019. BBC Music Introducing LIVE is the ultimate one-stop-shop for anyone looking for a career in the music industry, or those wanting to expand current knowledge or get into granular details, with a rich and varied programme comprising panels, talks, ‘in conversation’ chats, debates, careers advice and much more from leading names in the world of music. BBC DJs and producers, as well as artists and top names from brands, record labels and streaming services will gather to offer careers guidance, insider knowledge and invaluable advice, along with behind the scenes insights for taking those next steps in music.
BBC Music Introducing supports unsigned, undiscovered and under the radar music across the UK. At Introducing LIVE, new musicians will have the chance to showcase their talent in front of peers and industry experts alike, with pop up stages, open mic and new music showcases at the event. Attendees can also expect pop-up performances from top talent, showcase slots and surprise appearances across the three days.
In 2018, 15,000 young people attended the event, including the brightest young minds from over 50 colleges and Universities across the UK. Over 250 emerging and established artists participated in three days of activity, with thousands more artists attending seeking opportunities. More than 700 speakers from the music industry took part in over 130 hours of talks, panels and masterclasses, including Adele’s manager Jonathan Dickins, Kano, Jax Jones, Nile Rodgers, and Zoe Ball with Glastonbury’s Emily Eavis. BBC DJs including Annie Mac, Huw Stephens, Steve Lamacq and DJ Target were in attendance, and there were secret surprise performances from the likes of Clean Bandit, Tom Grennan and Declan McKenna and huge live music events each evening, with Ben Howard and Deadmau5 taking to the stage to perform. Over 20 hours of shows were broadcast live from the studio during the event across BBC Radio 1, Radio 2, 1Xtra and 6 Music.
