Following the release of ‘Strange Roses’, Ady Suleiman will be releasing his new mixtape ‘Thoughts & Moments Vol. 1’ on 5th April. Recorded in Stockholm and with tracks produced by FAMILY_TIME, Maths Time Joy, Winta James and GRADES, the mixtape follows the release of Ady’s critically acclaimed debut album, ‘Memories’ in March last year.
A collection of songs which originated as voice memos on his phone, Ady comments, “‘Thoughts & Moments’ started because I didn't want to go straight into a full album, I wanted a bit of time to be more creative and more experimental. I wanted to make a project that was a bit more free. We moved from acoustic to electric, the guys put their flavours on and took it to a better space. I liked putting down the first things I thought of, and those usually became the song. I love the vibes and interludes, that's how I started thinking of this project, a vibes projects. I wanted to do something that was really free and ‘Thoughts & Moments Vol 1' is the result.”
A deeply soulful and emotive love song produced by GRADES (NAO/Dua Lipa), ‘Strange Roses’ is already garnering huge global support including 17 ‘New Music Friday’ playlists on Spotify, over 80 ‘Best of the Week’ playlists on Apple Music and radio plays from both Phil Taggart and DJ Target.
A deft songwriter and a singer with soulful brilliance, Ady Suleiman has a rich era-spanning appreciation of music, and an innate need to turn life experiences into narrative. His timelessly classic yet fresh sound and lyrical distinctiveness has garnered him a broad range of influential fans from both sides of the Atlantic - from Chance the Rapper, Leon Bridges and Joey Bada$$ through to Labrinth, Michael Kiwanuka, Laura Mvula and Lianne Le Havas. Awarded ‘Breakthrough Act of the Year’ at Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide Awards, Ady has been supported by the likes of The Fader, NME, Complex, The Line of Best Fit and Mahogany to The Independent and GQ (to name but a few).
Ahead of the release of ‘Thoughts and Moments Vol. 1’, Ady will head out on tour starting in Nottingham on 10th March and playing up and down the country before headlining Electric Brixton, London, on 21st March. He then heads to Europe where he plays a string of dates including Amsterdam, Paris, Milan and Berlin.
With huge touring plans, lots of new music ready to release and Ady having just been announced as the face of ‘Barbour Beacon’, the new sub-brand of the iconic brand, Barbour, 2019 is setting up to be his most exciting yet.
