North-London singer/songwriter Zak Abel has today unveiled the official video for ‘You Come First’, featuring Bay-area rapper Saweetie.

The video, which was directed by Roxana Baldovin (Kehlani/Gucci Mane), sees Zak as a 50s style “Grow a boyfriend” toy. As a toy Zak witnesses all the selfish, boys that come in and out of his owner’s life, while she fantasises about the perfect relationship that her grow a boyfriend could give her. Saweetie also features in the video giving an amazing performance, looking incredible in 50s style glam while men swoon after her.

At the end of last year, Zak announced details of an extensive European tour, dubbed “Zak Abel Presents Date Night”, set to take place in March this year. The dates kick off in Manchester on the 14th of March and spans seven dates all over Europe, including stops in Berlin, Amsterdam and London’s Roundhouse, in what is set to be a special night, and Zak’s biggest headline show to date. Full tour dates below.

Zak Abel’s “Date Night” is a series of free monthly fan events hosted by Zak himself, which has helped tap into and cultivate the personal relationship he has with his fans. The first of Zak’s Date Nights saw him play an intimate show for a handful of fans at Servants Jazz Quarters, the first venue he ever played as a singer, with the second instalment revolving around Zak’s love of Vegan food, with lucky fans sitting down for a dinner date with Zak, hosted in collaboration with his favourite Vegan chef, Epivegan. The final Date Night event will involve a special cinema screening before Zak plays a landmark date at The Roundhouse – his biggest headline show of his career so far – on March 16th.

You Come First follows on from Love Song released earlier this year and marks a new musical path for Zak from that seen on debut album Only When We’re Naked, seeing the young songwriter perusing an ambitiously uplifting sound. Love Song, which was produced by legendary pop producer Steve Mac (Charli XCX/Ed Sheeran) proved to be a hit with fans, being streamed over 17.5 Million times on Spotify to date and reaching the C-list on Radio 2.
