Fresh from the release of their hard-hitting single Just One Voice, LA’s Silent Rival announce their first string of UK gigs.
The new single, which sees frontwoman Sara Coda channel the energy of their American rock predecessors, Queens of The Stone Age, The Strokes, whilst conveying their 2019 message of “strength in numbers”.
Hailing from the USA, Mexico and Japan, Sara Coda (vocals), Joz Ramirez (guitar), and Yutaka Sao (bass) are certainly no strangers to the amalgamation of various musical styles into one singular force, and Just One Voice, the first single off their forthcoming follow-up album to 2017’s debut The Kindness of Strangers does just that.
Speaking of the track, which within an hour of it’s release found a place in Spotify’s aptly titled Fierce Femmes playlist, and has already received over 200,000 streams, Coda explains “This video, this song, and this experience are not about us as individuals, it’s about us as a group: The band, the outcasts, the viewer, and anyone else that wants to rise up to make the world a place that is worthy of our love.”
Ahead of their headline January 2019 UK tour, the band have been recording their follow-up album with Alain Johanes (Queens of The Stone Age / Arctic Monkeys / Jimmy Eat World), with Just One Voice being mixed and mastered by Eddie Kramer (Jimi Hendrix, David Bowie, Kiss).
The tour kicks off at Manchester’s Night & Day café, January 26th 2019, get tickets here.
