Following a triumphant year which included the announcement of her first solo album (which stayed atop the iTunes pre-order chart for over a week) and a sold out nationwide tour, Claire Richards returns in 2019 with the launch of her new track Shame On You. The brand new track, her third single to be taken from My Wildest Dreams, is available to stream / download from January 4th.

Shame On You is a stylish and contemporary slice of pop, which sees Claire pushing her music into a more anthemic, uptempo-inspired sound. This, coupled with Claire’s unmistakably powerful vocal, means that Shame On You is the perfect song to have you dancing into 2019. Shame On You was written by Cutfather (Kylie, Little Mix), Chelcee Grimes (Dua Lipa, Olly Murs) and Karen Harding. The accompanying video, directed by Phil Griffin (Amy Winehouse, Annie Lennox, Adele) also premieres today and can be viewed now here.

Claire comments: “Shame On You is the most upbeat, fun song on my album and I am super excited for everyone to hear it. It’s an empowering anthem for anyone who’s ever been treated badly in a relationship and documents the moment they realise they deserve so much more. It got everyone on their feet on my recent My Wildest Dreams tour and it’s quickly become a fan favourite.”

Claire is set to release the brilliant My Wildest Dreams album next month on 1st February. She began working on My Wildest Dreams three years ago, working with some of the world’s top pop songwriters on the album including Steve Anderson (Britney Spears, Kylie Minogue), Richard "Biff" Stannard (Spice Girls, Kylie Minogue), Cutfather (Christina Aguilera, Pussycat Dolls), Anne Preven (Katy Perry, Leona Lewis) and Mat Rad (One Direction, Olly Murs). Claire is extremely proud that every song on the album is one she's really connected with. "I wanted the songs to mean something, and for every song to have a reason to be on there. The album takes you from being empowered to being thoughtful to being sad to being elated. I just wanted to make a really good pop album that people would want to listen to from start to finish."

Last month, Claire capped her incredible year with four sold out shows around the UK, finishing at London’s prestigious Union Chapel on 6th December. Claire received several rave reviews and the emotional shows saw a number of standing ovations and calls for more songs. On the tour, Claire performed her first two singles On My Own and End Before We Start, previously unheard album tracks including These Wings and Brave, and brilliant covers of Shawn Mendes’ In My Blood and Ike and Tina Turner’s River Deep Mountain High. She also performed very special versions of Steps classics One For Sorrow and Deeper Shade Of Blue.
