Crystal Fighters design limited edition reusable bottles for WaterAid.

British-Basque band Crystal Fighters have collaborated with WaterAid and RAW Bottles to create a limited run of stainless steel reusable water bottles.

The group, known for their exuberant mix of carnival rhythms and traditional Basque folk, will make a donation from the profits to WaterAid to help provide clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene to communities around the world.

Crystal Fighters brought their bottles to Wave Rave, a one-day music and culture festival in the coastal town of Bermeo, Spain. From a beach clean to a vegan barbecue, Wave Rave has a strong environmental focus. Alongside reusable bottles, the festival will sell a limited number of organic short-sleeved T-shirts with profits also going to WaterAid.

Sebastian Pringle, lead singer of Crystal Fighters, said:
“We see ourselves as global citizens, dreaming of a world without borders and music without genres. Yet millions of people around the world are denied access to clean water - a basic human right - simply because of who they are, how much money they have, or where they live. Just £15 can provide someone with a lasting supply of clean water so order one of our awesome eco-friendly water bottles to spread the message whilst staying hydrated. Water is life! Viva Agua!”
The 750ml bottles cost £18 and are produced by RAW Bottles, who seek to reduce plastic waste at festivals. Glastonbury Festival recently worked with RAW Bottles to provide reusable bottles for thirsty revellers this year, supporting its ban on the sale of single-use plastic bottles while also helping raise money for WaterAid.

Marcus Missen, Director of Communications and Fundraising at WaterAid, said:
“We are grateful Crystal Fighters are helping raise awareness - as well as money - for our vital work around the world. At Glastonbury Festival, I was struck by how often our volunteers were called ‘life-savers’ just for providing free water refills because in the UK, we tend to take having clean water on tap for granted. Yet, around the world, one in ten people don’t have a constant supply of clean water close to home. We are working towards a world where everyone everywhere has safe water and decent toilets.”

The limited edition bottle is available to buy from here.
