Last night, The Fly Magazine celebrated its 15th birthday by holding the first ever Fly Awards at London’s historic Kentish Town Forum.

Winners on the night included Foals (Artist of the Year), Parquet Courts (Album of the Year) and Arctic Monkeys (Song of the Year).

Also picking up awards on the night were Haim (Best Live Act), Glastonbury (Festival of the Year), The Leadmill (Venue of the Year), Wolf Alice (Ones to Watch 2014), The Horrors (Outstanding Artistry Award), Sister Ray (Local Hero Award) and Sonic Youth’s Thurston Moore (Living Legend Award).

Live performers at the event included Bombay Bicycle Club, Wild Beasts, Peace, The Horrors and Living Legend Award winner Thurston Moore.

Started in 1997 by the team behind Camden Barfly, by 1999 the magazine was receiving national distribution.
