Arcane Roots

Resolve is the third single from South London trio Arcane Roots’s debut album Blood and Chemistry. Can you read anything into their supports with Muse, Biffy Clyro and Coheed and Cambria? Well, if those bands do have anything to do with who tours with them, its good taste and that Arcane Roots may have a proggy, quirky side to them.

Actually, Resolve is around three and half minutes of in your face power music. The initial wall of noise segues into an aquatic, quieter segment before they are back in face peeling mode. On the face of it there isn’t that much more to it; the loud-quiet-loud dynamic is not original but Arcane Roots use it to good effect here and close listening reveals some imaginative work on bass and drums.
