A man that needs little introduction Lloyd Cole remains an integral part of my personal musical make-up. Since the 1984 release of Rattlesnakes, with the infamous Commotions, Lloyd has continued to channel his poetic verse and is currently touring his 10th solo studio album 'Standards'.

Lloyd Cole will also release new single ‘Women’s Studies’ on 21st Oct ’13 on Tapete Records.

Taken from his gloriously electric new album ‘Standards’, ‘Women’s Studies’ is written and produced by Lloyd Cole and performed by him with his band which features Fred Maher on drums and Matthew Sweet on bass and backing vocals, Joan (As Police Woman) Wasser on piano, Mark Schwaber and LC on guitars.

Lloyd is currently on tour playing songs from ‘Standards’ as well as a number of classics from his extensive back catalogue.

Lloyd Cole will also bring the gloriously electric sound of his new album ‘Standards’ to life early next year when he plays some shows with cult group The Leopards as his backing band. The Leopards are a rock band fronted by guitar-slinging Glasgow legend 'Fast' Mick Slaven, who cites Link Wray, The Voidoids and T Rex as his touchstones. These shows will be the first gigs Lloyd has done with a band since he hit the road with the re-formed Commotions in 2004.
