Last week was a beautiful moment for the UK rap scene. Music heads from all corners of the country congregated at the Hoxton Hall to see one man take charge of the stage. G FrSH was touched that audience members has traveled far and wide to catch his headline show with one guy stating he'd come from Coventry, to which G FrSH responded with, "You came from there just to see me... Wow!"
The south London rapper burst out onto the stage in a brightly-coloured bionic 'Legoman' outfit which is also the name of his sell-out show and his mixtape, receiving gawks from the audience as we waited in anticipation for the forthcoming musical offering.
G FrSH delivered fresh tracks from his highly rated 'Legoman II' mixtape. The catchy tune ‘What D’you Want’ was played and the head-bopping and braggadocios track ‘18k’ featuring Sincere and Fekky followed. G FrSH received a myriad of support from some of his other rap pals including Play Dirty duo Krept and Konan and fellow Disturbing London prodigy Tinie Tempah, who got the crowd amped-up with a great rendition of '#imballin'. Impressively, fifty-pound notes with the Disturbing London logo, flew from the ceiling and gold confetti sprinkled onto the stage during the performance…it was one hell of a show!
The performance consisted of numberless gritty and up-tempo beats, layered with some catchy and clever lyrics and if you thought that Miley Cyrus was the queen of twerking (I shudder at the thought of this), then you needed to see G FrSH’s big-booty dancers… they weren't playing!
‘To be great, the pressure has to be great,’ the rising grime artist commented towards the end of the show. There is no denying that G has been routinely putting the work in. His showcase was a testament to this!
