The Weeks are still relatively new to the UK but they are evolving fast. Having only played a handful of shows over here to date, these current and considerable adventures are pretty damn important for the Jackson 5-piece. Before support slots with Kings of Leon at the enormous O2 we have the pleasure of seeing them in a tiny pub in Bethnal Green called The Sebright Arms. This is an excellent drinking house and venue. Take note.

Support comes from Nottingham's emotive 3 piece The Barnum Meserve. Some lungs that gentleman has on him and the drummer is a ferocious site. Go check em' if they are nearby.

In support of their 2nd album proper Dear Bo Jackson (they also have 2 pretty substantial EPs), The Weeks exhibit both nerves and a coolness amidst noteable excitement in the room. The new album is represented heavily throughout with highlights Brother in the Night and King Sized Death Bed showcasing Cyle Barnes's wonderful way with words.

There's also serious desire for earlier material especially from debut album Comeback Cadillac, so when Buttons is rolled out the noise raises. This is not lost on the band who have to fend off two delirious cries of "The House we grew up in" barely 3 songs in. "We're getting there" seemed an apt response. It is though with tracks like this we see The Weeks at their very best, the flow, the ease of almost iconic lyrics and to some extent the pace, it's just flipping ace. And Heard it All from Rumspringa is a beast.

There's a longing to hear everything from the Rumspringa and Gutter Gaunt Gangster EP's, it's a feeling a few people express. But who are we to write a setlist, the band have released an excellent record in Dear Bo Jackson and they want to play it. If anything it's a credit to their quality that we want to hear everything, both new and old. See you for Sebright round 2 in July!
