Hailing from Wandsworth, fiN had been touring as a support for a while, backing bands like Incubus amongst others (great concert!), before ramping up their solo shows towards the end of 2011. The headline show at Tottenham Court Roads ‘Borderline’ comes to mind, especially as they delivered a short but stellar set in front of a couple of hundred people. now fiN have cracked on and are due to release their debut album ‘Life is Wasted on the Living’ on 25th March. Lucky You being the first single from this highly anticipated release!
Lucky You is reminiscent of late 90’s rock, taking the sound of a Smashing Pumpkins and similarities of Radiohead’s Thom Yorke’s voice. Additionally, you may throw a bit of early noughties Muse in their as well!
Throughout, there is a deep sound from the guitar and drums which gives an ironic twist to the title of the track! The emphasis however, is more focused on the bass (offers great rhythm) than any other instrument, which combines well with the noteworthy vocals.
Lucky You really comes alive after the 2 minute mark when the there is a transformation from a song that is quite routine, to an arena anthem.
