Safety is a down tempo song that is heavily influenced by trip-hop stylings with psychedelic synthesis as part of sophisticated beat sampling at the beginning. But as the song continues, other elements begin to make themselves heard amongst the arrangement - like a jazzy trumpet that adds depth and range during a bridge and a powerful grungy guitar solo that steals the show about 2/3s of the way through.
Faijee's vocals, during the short blurbs in which we hear her, are melodious yet as despairing as the song is. They're all airy and tampered with like the vocals of a classic dance track, but that's not a bad thing; I want to feel like I'm listening to something that I haven't really come across before.
Safety has numerous musical elements that blend together to create contemporary rock. This song isn't something attempting to ride on the coattails of yesteryear; it makes no attempt to sound much like anything else. Cat's Park have a sound that is enhanced by the technologies of the industry and it's at it's refreshing best in this single.
