Having recently toured and supported Noel Gallagher, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and The Cult, The Minutes’ reputation as a must see live rock n roll band has been increasingly growing in momentum over the last eighteen months. Last year also saw the release of critically acclaimed debut album, Marcata. Tonight the Dublin three piece took the stage as understudies to Swedish garage rockers The Hives.

Launching straight into their opener ‘Night time’, The Minutes gave a taste of their no nonsense, heavily bass infused rock n roll. Thick and fast, more followed as ‘Secret History Official’, ‘Heartbreaker’ and a speeded up version of their classic tune ‘Black Keys’ were relentlessly rolled out almost without pause for breath.

The Minutes are loud and proud and have a great rock stage presence, led from the front by the charismatic Mark Austin. Unfortunately the set lasted just 45 minutes but The Minutes finished on a rousing high and certainly showed the receptive London crowd they’d be well worth seeing again and this time as headline act!
