Birmingham’s PEACE release Delicious, an EP spanning 4 songs and 21 minutes and it’s bloody good. It’s full of wonderful psychedelic alt-pop, sounds you can dance to and sounds you can reminisce to and it’s out now!

Opener Oceans Eye recalls Beach Fossils and moments of The Coral and it’s a great start to a fascinating EP. Brooding before letting the light in, the 2 and a half minutes sets the tone for an eclectic listen.

Bloodshake sounds like members of Animal Collective dating Warpaint, there’s even some Friendly Fires in there for it’s quite the hip shaking number. It maintains a lively pace throughout paving the way for such lyrics as “ we’re spitting blood in the sun”. The brilliant noise at the end shouts Wu Lyf.

California Daze is simply lovely evoking memories of a lost love or a summer romance, the Beatles-eque harmonies and longing guitar solo will make this a crowd favourite and already has bloggers in a stir of praise. “Oh she tastes like sunlight and she’s always going to be there in the back of your mind”

Closer 1998 (Delicious) stands at 10 minutes long and reminds us of tripping MGMT. it’s worth persisting with as the track builds to a frenetic pace which in a live environment you can imagine creates quite the scene. It’s out there in the way Smashing Pumpkins Gish was out there.

This is an ambitious EP, full of great pop and alt-rock, it’s wild in the terrain it covers and leaves us fascinated as to what will come next. Spin it!
