Formed in Wandsworth, Berkshire fiN are a four piece that play excitable rock with a pop sensibility. Think Feeder munching on the sides of Foo Fighters.

Twenty Three is a comment on ageing, struggling with what is now out of reach and longing for a return. It’s a subject of interest, although by no means original, but it’s the lack of originality in the music that is the real problem. The pop-rock nature of the track irritatingly recalls The Wombats although the pace of the song could prove appealing live, while the word ‘anthemic’ will no doubt be thrown around.

Eve adopts a more subtle approach with the introduction of strings, particularly prominent on an eerie opening and is an improvement on the former. There are definitely elements of Silverchair’s emotive ‘Neon Ballroom’ LP as the track builds to a noteable finish. It’s the pick of the two.

fiN will be launching the new single at London’s Bush Hall on the 18th April if you fancy it…
