Chris Cunningham has been producing videos for sometime now, most famously for the 'Aphex Twin' video 'Come to Daddy', which disturbed me a great deal when I first saw it. Today I got the opportunity to see Cunningham's latest creation 'Rubber Johnny'. You may be think it's a light hearted porn flick, well think again. 'Rubber Johnny' is a short film based on a mutant boy confined to a wheelchair imprisoned in a dark and dingy basement, his only companion being a strange looking dog. Johnny seems to have a bad case to ADHD and all he can do to keep himself occupied from his life of captivity is to drive himself slowly insane. As this six minute video madness takes hold the soundtrack is provided by Aphex Twin with a hard hitting techno, drum and bass tune to give the film an even more intense feel.

This short film has to be seen to be believed - it's an absolute work art. Rubber Johnny is released on 6th June and is accompanied by 40 pages of drawings and photographs from the crazy mind of Chris Cunningham.
