Unknown in the UK but a super star overseas, Pakistan’s answer to Britney Spears releases debut UK single for Pakistani flood victims.

A British woman, who is so famous in Pakistan that she is known as the country’s answer to Britney Spears, is aiming to find fame at home after releasing her debut single in the UK, with all proceeds going to Pakistan’s flood victims.

Annie Khalid, currently unknown in Great Britain, is a 23-year old Pakistani Pop Princess with a debut album that has sold several million copies, a sponsorship deal with Pepsi and one of the most recognisable faces in Pakistan.

Now after five years of mega stardom in Pakistan, Annie is aiming to make it big at home with the UK-release of dance track ‘Be My Baby’ mixed by DJ Judge Jules. All proceeds from the track will go to help victims of the Pakistan floods.

We caught up with Annie for a quick chat at the launch of her debut single ‘Be My Baby’ and asked her a couple of questions, click above to see the interview.

The UK video for Annie’s single ‘Be My Baby’ was produced by Leeds and London-based production company Bradley.tv and can be viewed at http://bradley.tv/annie-khalid-be-my-baby. For more on Annie Khalid visit www.AnnieKhalid.com.

‘Be My Baby’ is Annie Khalid’s first music video for the UK market. Produced by Bradley.tv, it will also be released worldwide and will feature on MTV as well as other well-known international music video stations.

Set in London, it focuses on Annie’s love of music and unassuming nature. In the story, Annie catches the attention of a young guy who is instantly absorbed by her presence. The sequence follows Annie as she walks to a cafe consumed in her music, oblivious she’s lost her scarf. The guy finds her scarf and tries to return it to her. The intention is to mirror the urban, inner-city feel of the song while playing homage to Annie’s Pakistani roots. The four-minute video was filmed at ten locations in central London from September 3-5, 2010 using RED ONE camera systems.
