Ladies and gentlemen I give you the exponents of trailer-trash-trisha-pop, Liverpool’s goFASTER>> Their debut single double A-Side 'She Starts Monday/Heather's Loaded = McCartney's Blown It,’ is released on May 14th on Fake DIY Records. Their narrative is one of rubbish jobs, daytime television, STDs and flammable Leisurewear!
'She Starts Monday,’ has psychedelic electro keyboards. You immediately think Inspiral Carpets, and then the hefty layered sound kicks in. Their catchy tight melodies are underpinned by a great sense of timing throughout the song.
Pete Shelleyesque vocals tell the amphetamine fuelled tale. 'I know that she likes to play out, I know why she needs those two jobs, I know that she likes to play out, I know why she needs that nose job.’ The apt 'goFASTER’ refrain heralds them as ones to watch.
The amusing 'Heather's Loaded-McCartney's Blown It,' manages to include such diverse references as Ferrero Roche pyramids and the Jeremy Kyle show.
goFASTER>> are the sound of irresistible indie jingle-pop. A huge bonus is they don’t take themselves seriously. They employ the wit of Half Man Half Biscuit and view the world with the satirical eye of Mark E Smith.
This summer’s indie anthem by the new scouse Buzzcocks, it’s genuinely exciting stuff. You’ll find yourself dancing in the kitchen to this. I defy you not to like it.
