Including a mix of his latest critically acclaimed studio album ‘Feeling Mortal’ as well as a selection of his classic American songs – this intimate live recording is as spellbinding as it is entertaining.

Offering 34 tracks (now there’s value for money!) on a 2-disc album, this riveting affair – professionally captured during Kris Kristofferson’s sold-out acoustic gig at London’s Union Chapel (26th September 2013) – makes for a timeless sonic treasure and is a MUST for Kristofferson fans of all ages!

For those who couldn’t be there in person to enjoy the live experience, this double album provides a fair idea as to the raw talent of the 78-year old Grammy-award winning songwriter and musician. Kristofferson’s trademark, now somewhat aged voice – combined with the poetry that are his lyrics, and accompanied merely by guitar and harmonica - have deservedly catapulted him to living legend status. The songs might tell a thousand stories, but each song gives a piece of himself along the way.

The sound quality of this recording is superb, and no unnecessary banter distracts from the magic of the evening. Only towards the end we can hear a warm and honest “God bless you, you’ve been a great audience – good night. Thank you” before some further songs were performed. Perhaps the one song that sums up Kristofferson’s spirit and philosophy the most is the poignant ‘To Beat The Devil’:

If you waste your time a-talking to the people who don't listen
To the things that you are saying who do you think's going to hear?
And if you should die explaining how the things that they complain about
Are things they could be changing, who d'you think's goin' to care?

There were other lonely singers in a world turned deaf and blind who
Were crucified for what they tried to show,
And their voices have been scattered by the swirling winds of time,
'cause the truth remains that no-one wants to know!

“Was it wonderful for you?” we can hear Kristofferson ask his audience at the end. Yes, it certainly was!
