Dan Wilson released his second solo album earlier this year and his return to the studio was a welcome one. With a look of a boffin - his band Semisonic produced two albums of intelligent American pop-rock before Wilson turned his attention to writing for others. His most high profile success was Adele's ubiquitous Someone Like You, which has probably paid for his LA residence.

This is the lead and title track from that second solo album, and while not the strongest - it showcases his ear for a melody, with a chiming guitar hook. Sounding lonely and slightly pleading - the song appears to reference life on the road, with clever talk of "silent partners" who are "waiting for a claim". But he could be singing about being a rock star - or a vacuum cleaner salesman.

The single comes after a series of UK shows, which will no doubt feature some of those songs penned for the likes of Dixie Chicks, Birdy and Nas.
