Jolie Goodnight - Say Goodnight Gracey - Printable version
Jolie Goodnight is the daughter of the legendary American producer Joe Gracey and singer song-writer Kimmie Rhodes - and this is her debut album. From the moment she sings "Oh will you never let me be" in the opening seconds of Eric Maschwitz and Jack Strachey's These Foolish Things (Remind Me Of You), her voice seduces you. And seduction is something she has some knowledge of - from her work with the illustrious Jigglewatts Burlesque Revue. Described as a sultry red-head, she was awarded “Best Tease” and “Audience Choice” at the Texas Burlesque Festival and was the 2012 2nd runner up for Miss Viva Las Vegas.

It is fair to say her voice is a gift from above - and if she sang the phone book to you it would sound sexy. However, there are no lists of telephone numbers on her debut, instead classic songs, performed in a classic bluesy jazz style with a strong essence of vaudeville. The Austin singer's style transforms you to the 1920s at times and her background in burlesque helps her sell classics like Ain't Misbehavin'. There's a hushed and sumptuous version of Summertime, and impressive too is the sultry saxophone of Bill Carey and Carl Fischer's You've Changed.

The album title is recognition for her late father - who she says she wanted to pay tribute to, and it will be with added emotion that she heads to the UK in April to play live dates with mer mother.

She performs at London's Old Queen's Head (Islington) on April 1st, Tivoli Theatre in Wimborne on the 2nd, Barnfield Theatre in Exeter (3rd), The Stables Milton Keynes (4th) The Kirkgate Centre Cockermouth (5th) and Diamond Jubilee Town Hall in Kirton in Lindsey (6th).
