Busier than an X factor winner on a Simon Cowell tour schedule Brother and Bones are starting to see the rewards of all their hard graft. Constantly touring and spending time on the road these chaps have built up a loyal fan base and this is not surprising considering how they perform live. Dedicated followers came in their droves to the Scala in London with fans queuing around the corner and braving the elements. You really don’t get more committed than that.
There was a great atmosphere backstage with the husky tones of newcomer and support act Sam Fender warming up his voice in the corridor and Robbie Boyd jamming along with a band member in the dressing room next door. Brother and Bones were really animated about this gig especially having a new bassist on board, Alex Karban. This was a landmark gig for the band after stints of supporting Ben Howard and Bastille and it has been great for them that such big artists have been championing their music.
Brother and Bones are quite a force to been seen live and the industry has started to stand up and see this. They recently played live on Dermot O’ Leary's Radio 2 show and signed to the same management as Laura Mvula and Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds. This is undoubtedly a year where they get to produce that desperately awaited album they want to make.
Music News chatted with lead singer Rich Thomas and Brother and Bones very mischievous lead guitarist James Willard about their biggest gig to date, Rich’s birthday, touring American and that much wanted album.
