Best known for the electro hit ‘Sunglasses At Night, Canadian DJ-producer Tiga has also remixed a host of stars including Scissor Sisters, Depeche Mode, Moby, Mylo and LCD Soundsystem. Having spent the last 3 years at the controls of ‘Sexor' Tiga finally steps into the light in his own right. He split his time evenly recording half the album with Soulwax in Ghent and the other half in Stockholm with Swedish producer Jesper Dahlback.

The only prior release from ‘Sexor' was ‘Pleasure From The Bass' back in 2002. A slice of catchy electronica adding an undeniable ‘White Lines' feel to the proceedings. A future single for sure is the warm and rambling ‘(Far From) Home' which sounds like a cross between Mark Almond and Bernard Sumner in full swing. ‘You Gonna Want Me' could have been lifted from Primal Scream's ‘Screamadelica', while the chronic ‘You Gonna Want Me' should have been lifted from this album straight into the dustbin with ‘Louder Than A Bomb' follwing close behind. ‘High School / Jamaica Boa' on the other hand induced a positive Human League vibe, while ‘3 Weeks' brings to mind the sexed up electronic remixes found on ‘Non Stop Erotic Cabaret'. A worthwhile cover of ‘Burning Down The House' provides an analogue take on the Talking Heads classic and if you forward 17 minutes past the last track you get a sexy woman's telephone message announcing her undying love on Valentines Day, I'd forgotten what that sounded like.

In a nutshell, fat synth chords a plenty lend a very pleasant 80s feel to ‘Sexor'. It may just be time for Tiga to self propel up the charts, welcome to planet Sexor.
