It’s here – Music-News Underground in Edinburgh! Maggie’s Chamber plays host this evening to our first ever Underground show in Edinburgh, and proves to be the perfect venue with candlelight, elegance and charm. Headlining the show are one of Edinburgh’s most renowned bands Sebastian Dangerfield, with special guests Salute Mary and Motorcycle Display Team.

Edinburgh-based four-piece Salute Mary open the show to an already energetic crowd, and kick off instantly with a fiery passion and heavy rock coolness. Lead singer Calum lends his brilliant vocals to the outfit; vocals so good they could easily rival the greats of Julian Casablancas or James Skelly in terms of credibility and talent. Title track 'Fire’ shows off these vocals, alongside the band’s tight knack for vivacious rock music and creates the highlight of their set. With new songs in the horizon, Salute Mary tonight establish their place in Edinburgh’s unsigned music scene completely.

The second set this evening comes from out-of-towners Motorcycle Display Team as they play the first night of their Scottish debut tour. Motorcycle Display Team’s lead singer Steve provides phenomenal vocals, reaching soaring notes and incorporating quirky lyrics. Manic drumming and literally air-shattering bass lines complete the line up, and prove how tight an act these Londoners really are. Fancy dress costumes, free 'Crayon Masterpiece’ EPs and brilliant chat, Motorcycle Display Team are just the perfect package to accompany the first Music-News Underground show.

Headlining the show this evening and handcrafting the banjo-rock genre all for themselves is Sebastian Dangerfield. Sebastian Dangerfield clash jaunty Modest Mouse-esque beats with smooth and honeyed vocals for an intriguing sound, captivating their audience continuously. Teamed with these vocals is the additional musical selection of cowbell, violin and banjo, making Sebastian Dangerfield an outrageously quirky act and a fantastic headliner for the first ever Music-News Underground event in Edinburgh.

After the success of our first evening in Maggie’s Chambers, Edinburgh, Music-News Underground will return in May for another exciting show. The show will see Suspire and Any Color Black perform, before their big debuts at this year’s Rockness Festival. Support comes from What The Dead Know and the fantastic LightGuides, and since we have two big Rockness bands playing, we’re even going to give you the chance to win two tickets to the festival on the night!
