She signed a record deal at just 15 and is about to release her third album, following a two-year break to have her second child; all this is an impressive CV for a 25 year old.

Who can forget Jamelia’s popular chart hits 'Superstar’, 'See It In A Boy's Eyes’ and 'Thank You’, which still get airplay today. Her first two albums kept to a safe street R&B sound but 'Walk With Me’ seeks to break down borders and preconceptions through experimentation with a new sound.

Jamelia’s harder sound teeters on the edge of rock and R&B. Her first single 'Something About You’ shows she’s more than capable of competing with her pop-rock contemporaries but it’s a forgettable number catering for a mainstream audience.
However, tracks like the deliciously funky 'Hustle’ and the bhangra fused Afrika Bambaataa collaboration 'Do Me Right’ really get your feet going.

There’s also the help of a few well-known samples on the album including The Stranglers' Golden Brown on 'No More’ and Depeche Mode's Personal Jesus on the fabulous 'Beware Of The Dog’.

This varied album is definitely the best record of her career and should please Jamelia fans and draw a new audience to her powerful and sultry voice. Having already secured a MOBO nomination before the release of her album it looks like this Birmingham lady is back and means business.
