Aren’t you bored of hearing singers and musicians complaining about being tired because the amount of work they have to do and cancelling gigs because of exhaustion? Give me even a fraction of the money they get and I’d give up sleep altogether! It’s the unsigned acts you have to feel for. The ones who do it for the love of the music, who play gigs for just enough money to pay for the petrol to get to the venue, if they get paid at all! You may wonder where I’m going with this but see I have a point. Singer songwriter Ian Evans not only writes, plays and records all his own stuff he plays bass in a band and even records metal music under a different name - and he’s unsigned. Now that’s dedication. And it seems to have paid off. The Post Office Tower is a collection of easy-on-the-ear, cleverly put together tracks that show just how talented this man is. Ranging from Damien Rice style ditties complete with female backing singer (Leave us not little nor yet dark) to rockier numbers with a darker feel (Egypt) The Post Office Tower is a great debut from a man who’s sure to attract attention.
