Demi Lovato has advised fans not to buy into media hype in light of her recently published Complex interview.
The 23-year-old Confident singer spoke about her relationship with Selena Gomez in the article published by the outlet earlier this week (28Sep15), noting she was no longer speaking to her fellow songstress.
But on Wednesday (30Sep15), Demi clarified her statements, insisting that what she said while speaking with Complex is no longer relevant.
“Interviews are done months and months before the issue is published. I lot can change between then and now. Don't read into the bulls**t,” she wrote on Twitter.
When asked by Complex for the publication’s feature whether she still speaks with Selena, Demi replied with a simple: “Nope”.
But the response does seem out of date, as she and Selena recently took a silly selfie together, posting the image on Instagram earlier this month (Sep15). This was the first picture they took together since 2014.
During her talk with Complex, Cool for the Summer singer Demi made it clear she is not a huge fan of frequently spending time with other famous people.
She prefers being in the company of those who do not hold back on sharing their authentic feelings.
“I don’t really hang out with celebrities,” she said. “I’m not the type of person that’s on Instagram posting pictures of me and tons of my best friends. I have my core group, and they’re the type of people that will be there for me in the middle of the night. They’re the type of people that are like, ‘You’re being a b**ch right now. Don’t talk to me that way,’ and I’m like, ‘Whoa. Sorry. I didn’t realise it.’ I don’t have anybody around me who kisses my a*s.”
