Kelly Jones was on the The Chris Moyles Show on Radio X this morning.

The Stereophonics frontman talked about the band’s sixth album, Keep The Village Alive reaching number 1, only the second self-released album to top the chart this year, along with Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds.

Chris Moyles was very vocal about him and Noel Gallagher not being invited to Kelly’s wedding, missing out on dancing with guests, Paul Weller and Ronnie Wood. Kelly quipped ‘you can invite Noel to many things but he doesn’t often turn up’ and blamed his wife Jakki and the the Chris' disappearance for the predenters' no show invite.

Kelly also talked about why it would be ‘sacralige’ for meat eaters Sterephonics to do a Smiths cover.

Speakers:
CM – Chris Moyles
KJ – Kelly Jones

Kelly Jones on not inviting Noel Gallagher or Chris Moyles to his ‘Phenomenal’ Wedding:
CM: How was the wedding? I wasn’t invited so I wasn’t there.
KJ: The wedding was good you should have been there. I didn’t know where you were. I thought you were dead.
CM: I wasn’t dead! That’s terrible. Noel Gallagher was in on Monday and we were talking about you. I went ‘Did you go to Kelly’s wedding?’ He went ‘No, I don’t know if I was invited!’ I went ‘Are you sure, because I would imagine you were invited!’
KJ: You can invite Noel to many things but he doesn’t often turn up.
CM: I have friends of mine who were there and they told me it was a phenomenal wedding.
KJ: I was on tour at the time, so I didn’t actually have a lot to do with organising it.
CM: I’m not going to let this go. It was either you or Jackie, you had nothing to do with it, so you’re saying the reason I wasn’t invited was Jackie.
KJ: We didn’t know where you were.
CM: It’s not like I joined the army, its not like I disappeared
KJ: You just disappeared off the face of the earth, I thought you were in America, I didn’t know where you’d gone mate. Where did you go? Where have you been?

CM: I’d loved to have danced with Paul Weller, who else was there?
KJ: Ronnie Wood
CM: Can you imagine doing Oops Upside Your Head with Ronnie Wood and Paul Weller
KJ: Rob Brydon
CM: Rob Brydon got invited! Now I’m insulted! Rob Brydon!
KJ: He’s a good friend of mine.
CM: Tom [Jones] couldn’t turn up, he was busy so Rob came as Tom. We jammed together.

On why it would be sacrilege for meat eaters, Stereophonics to do a Smiths Cover
CM: How do you fancy doing a Smiths cover?
KJ: We eat too much meat. We got meat on stage, we can’t do it, he won’t like it.
CM: Do you think that would be really sacrilegious, to do a Smith’s cover whilst people on stage ate meat?
KJ: We had a vegetarian lighting engineer once and we gaffer tapped him to his bunk with Parma ham and sausages and he couldn’t get out.
