Rihanna won't be joining Taylor Swift on stage any time soon.
Country-turned-pop singer Taylor has been wowing audiences around the world with her The 1989 World Tour recently. But it's not just her vocals and catchy tracks that have got her fans going - she also has a habit of bringing some of her A-list friends up on stage.
Everyone from Julia Roberts to John Legend have joined Taylor, but Rihanna insists she'll never be one of the tour guests.
“I don’t think I would. I just don’t think it makes sense," Rihanna told NME.
“I don’t think our brands are the same. I don’t think they match, I don’t think our audiences are the same. In my mind she’s a role model, I’m not.”
However Taylor isn't likely to take any offence, as she revealed yesterday that her celebrity guests are never planned. The 25-year-old told the Associated Press that guests like Ellen DeGeneres and Selena Gomez are already at the venue to see the show on their own accord, and she just seizes the opportunity to invite them up.
Not wanting to be a role model is nothing new with Rihanna, 27, and she's spoken at length in the past about her unwillingness to be known as one.
“I don’t like to use that word because people have their own opinion on what that means to them," she told USA Today. “I can’t really say I’m a role model. I’m not perfect. I’m not trying to sell that.
“I want people to have fun but be responsible, protect themselves and be in control of your life. You can never judge people. I always made that a point. You never know what someone is going through.”
