Deryck Whibley has tied the knot with Ariana Cooper.
The Sum 41 musician exchanged vows under a flower-adorned altar at the Hotel Bel Air in Los Angeles on Sunday. Despite his rock roots, the 35-year-old opted for a relaxed affair.
“It was a chill and intimate ceremony," a source told People magazine. "They had a violin play at the ceremony and the music was mellow, not typical rock that Deryck's band plays, which was surprising."
Deryck has had a tough year, after collapsing in his kitchen in April 2014 from organ failure following serious alcohol abuse. The musician is now clean and sober and credits his new wife with supporting him through the turbulent months.
“There are so many exciting things now," he recently told Vice. "So many things are new for me. I'd never done anything sober … Now there's this whole world out there and things I'm realising I've never done."
The star shared a number of photos from his nuptials to Ariana, which showcased the beauty’s stunning beaded, strapless ball gown. The brunette had her hair pulled back in a beautiful updo but the couple’s wedding planner revealed Ariana had a unique pair of Converse sneakers on under her flowing gown.
“She had the coolest kicks in town, (sic)” she wrote alongside a photograph of the footwear on Instagram.
The wedding was Deryck’s second, having previously been married to Canadian singer Avril Lavigne for three years. Their divorce was finalised in November 2010.
