Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift buried the hatchet with a bang while opening the MTV VMAs.

After turning up to the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards red carpet with nine superstars who made cameos in her legendary music video Bad Blood, Taylor Swift pulled yet another shocking move at the ceremony. She and rapper Nick got into a war of words with each other on Twitter in July.

But it seems the conflict is over, as Nicki brought Taylor out during her performance, which featured dancers dressed in fiery, Caribbean-inspired sequined red outfits. The surprise appearance was made when Nicki finished performing her song Trini Dem Girls. The audience went nuts when Taylor was revealed, as the songstress emerged from beneath the stage seemingly out of nowhere. The 25-year-old sang along to Nicki’s song The Night Is Still Young and then the ladies engaged in a playful 30-second rendition of Taylor’s hit Bad Blood.

But the beef exploded after Nicki slammed Miley Cyrus live on air. The rapper was accepting an for Best Hip Hop video and just before wrapping up her speech she blatantly cussed Miley, who served as host of the 2015 MTV VMAs.

“And now back to this b***h who had a lot to say about me the other day in the press. Miley, what’s good?” Nicki sneered.

Miley responded without batting an eye, saying: “Hey we’re all in this industry, we all do interviews and we all know how they manipulate.”

Earlier this week The New York Times released a discussion with Miley in which the singer claims Nick “is not too kind and not very polite”.

Taylor seemed to dominate the night again later in the evening, debuting her Wildest Dreams video, which also stars Clint Eastwood. The 1950s inspired promo sees Taylor making out heavily with Clint in several scenes.

Justin Bieber also dropped a steamy music video for his new single What Do You Mean. That wasn’t the only time the Canadian singer had viewers’ jaws on the floor, as he unexpectedly burst into tears after performing the fresh track.
