Nick Jonas thinks most fans will be in complete shock over his “no-brainer dance” music.

The 22-year-old singer is preparing for the release of his new song Levels, which hits shelves on August 21.

He has been promoting the track via Instagram this week, sharing pictures of himself chilling with four ‘Moonbabes’ while engaging in various activities. And Nick is convinced fans will find Levels to be an interstellar listening experience in many ways.

“I think that the thing that will surprise people the most about the song is the dance element to it,” he told MTV News. “With Jealous and even Chains there was an ability to dance to them, but it was very specific. For this one I feel like it’s a no-brainer dance, get up and have a good time jam.”

Nick claims he’s been “anxiously awaiting the release” of Levels because it shows his “fun, energetic side” in a way that has never been exposed before.

But if fans think Levels is irresistibly dancey, he can’t wait to hear the response to his forthcoming brand new album - because the record takes the exuberant vibe “one step further”.

“This is the first single to a new album, which I’m incredibly excited to announce. I’ve been hard at work on the new music trying to push myself lyrically to say some deeper things,” Nick, who broke up with Olivia Culpo in June after dating for two years, noted. “And I’ve gone through a lot in this past year and a half and I want to talk about it and just push myself as an artist and continue to grow.”

Nick will be performing Levels for the first time as part of the MTV Video Music Awards, which are being held on August 30.
