Louis Tomlinson is hosting a charity ball in London next month.

The philanthropic One Direction star is putting his fame to good use by becoming the face of the Believe in Magic Cinderella Ball in the British capital on August 10.

He announced the good news to his fans on Twitter.

"Very excited & proud to be hosting an exclusive Cinderella Ball for @Believeinmagicx next month ! Few tickets left:http://www.believeinmagic.co.uk/Cinderella-Ball," he posted.

"Exciting times :) :) :) :) !! (sic)"

The majority of the guests will need a special invitation but in a bid to raise money, five tables' worth of tickets have been released to the public by Louis. Fans can get their hands on one for £500, or a table of ten can split the cost at £4,500.

Charity Believe in Magic aims to help children who are seriously and terminally ill. By creating once-in-a-lifetime experiences, they hope to put a smile on the faces of kids who are going through unimaginable pain.

It's a positive moment for Louis, 23, who has had to put up with countless headlines recently. His friend Briana Jungwirth is currently pregnant with his baby, which has sent the media into overdrive.

Luckily he's been able to take his mind off things on tour, last night playing in Kansas City. Louis and bandmates Niall Horan, Harry Styles and Liam Payne seemed to have fun on stage as they had a huge water fight.

"Last few shows have been amazing, thank you everyone for being there. Kansas City you were so nice tonight. Thanks for having us. H (sic)," Harry tweeted afterwards.
