Naughty Boy has seemingly reignited his spat with Zayn Malik.

The British producer has worked with some of the hottest names in music, including Sam Smith and Wiz Khalifa. It was his work with ex-One Direction star Zayn Malik that thrust him to the spotlight earlier this year, with the former boyband member teaming up with Naughty Boy straight after his shock exit from the group in March.

However the two fell out over Twitter earlier this week, with Zayn calling his former colleague and friend a "fat joke". Naughty Boy didn't respond at the time, but he's now taken to social media to seemingly vent his frustrations.

"dont pretend here when you couldn't defend me there (sic)," he tweeted.

Many of Zayn's fans assume the tweet is about their idol and numerous have posted back telling Naughty Boy to leave him alone.

Even before Zayn's missive there were signs the pair weren't getting along. Two days before his message, the producer tweeted "don't feed the hand that bites you", followed up after Zayn's blast with another message.

"first cut is the weakest #rodstewart #sorrynotsorry #changes (sic)," he told fans, highlighting how things were moving in a new direction.

The initial argument is thought to be have been about a video of their music which was posted online, with Zayn believing the producer was responsible. However, it has since been claimed that it was in fact a fan who shared the track. It's also been reported that Zayn hated not being in control.

Last night the rumour mill went into overdrive with claims Simon Cowell's record label Syco had dropped 22-year-old Zayn. The move was said to be because Simon wanted to show his loyalty to the other members of One Direction, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne and Niall Horan.

However a Syco rep has denied the allegations.

“Zayn is still with Syco,” they told Entertainment Weekly.
