Melody Gardot gigs are like London Buses – you wait two years for one and then two come at once! World-renowned vocalist and songwriter Melody Gardot today announced she will be performing two exclusive live shows at the PizzaExpress Jazz Club Soho in August on Monday 3 August 2015 and Tuesday 4 August 2015.

The PizzaExpress Jazz Club shows will be her first live performance in London since she performed to a captivated crowd at The Barbican in April 2013.

These greatly anticipated live shows, which are part of the 50th Anniversary celebrations at PizzaExpress Jazz Club, will feature Melody performing material from her fourth studio album ‘Currency Of Man’. Ross Dines music manager for PizzaExpress Jazz Club stated “Melody is one of my favourite artists on the scene today. We're delighted to have her perform at the club.”

The ‘Currency Of Man’ album, which saw Melody transform from world music siren into a steamy jazz, soul and Blues chanteuse and garner critical acclaim for her musically rich and socially conscious and thought provoking lyrical exploration. The album’s lyrics were influenced deeply by the poverty and social division she experienced in LA whilst on location making the record. Even with a significant shift in musical direction, Melody’s extraordinary voice stands distinct and her fans are no doubt desperate to hear it live once again. Keen to experience another captivating live performance from the lady that can hold the attention of any audience, in the palm of her hand.

Her album ‘Currency Of Man’ marks an intensely creative milestone, and transcends musical distinctions of jazz, blues and R&B, to offer a stirring social and musical statement. On the new album, Melody joins forces again with Grammy Award-winning producer Larry Klein. This striking musical partnership saw their last collaboration, 2009’s ‘My One and Only Thrill’, sell over 1.5 million copies, and produce songs that have become modern classics.

The Currency Of Man tour which takes place later this year and will include shows at London’s Royal Festival Hall on 17 November 2015 and Cardiff’s Wales Millennium Centre on 18 November 2015. For further information visit: http://melodygardot.co.uk
