Ahead of the release of her new album ‘Work It Out’ (out 6th July on Columbia), Lucy Rose has shared an interactive video for one of the album’s stand out tracks ‘Till The End’.
In the video, Lucy plays through all the individual instrument parts on the track and viewers are able to click through each of the 6 scenes (electric guitar, bass, drums, piano, lead vocals, and backing vocals) to display a view of their own choosing.
As Lucy herself explains: "This song was the last that I wrote for the album and along with all the songs on the record I played most the instruments so thought it would be fun to make this video. If you want to learn the piano chords or any of the parts then this is the video for you. Most of this was recorded in my home, or local shop and my rehearsal room so each place means something. Click on each picture to explore the video more and enjoy.”
Recorded at Snap Studios in London, 'Work It Out' enters a whole new sonic space for the young Warwickshire musician. Where debut album, 2012's 'Like I Used To, introduced a fascinatingly assured acoustic artist, rich of melody and deft of touch, 'Work It Out' is the sound of Lucy Rose creating a bold new context for that voice. No apologies. The acoustic guitar remains present, but there's nothing folk or shy about this record. It's all Lucy Rose.
Produced by Rich Cooper (Banks, Mystery Jets, Josef Salvat), Lucy has written a collection of songs that add vivid colour, fizz, and texture to her original sound. She incorporates a healthy dose of Summer into the music, and it pushes her forcefully into a different lane without removing her wholesale from the last one.
Lucy Rose will be playing a host of UK festivals this Summer including T In The Park, Truck Somersault, and Reading & Leeds, and will embark on a massive 23 date headline tour in the Autumn. Listings as follows.
