Selena Gomez and Cody Simpson are allegedly “friends with benefits”.
The 22-year-old songstress and Australian heartthrob Cody, 18, first sparked romance rumours on June 28 when they were seen out getting ice cream with a group of friends.
And while the pair have yet to officially comment on their relationship status, it has been claimed they are in the midst of a passionate tryst.
“They’re just a fling right now,” a source told OKMagazine.com. “They’re just having fun and seeing where it goes.”
Cody and Selena have long been friends, as he is a close pal of Selena’s ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber.
However, Selena’s blossoming romance with Cody is apparently not a worry to Justin, who has moved on from his former relationship.
“I haven’t heard any complaints that he’s breaking the bro code,” the source added. “He understands.”
Cody has been single since splitting from model girlfriend Gigi Hadid back in May after an on-off relationship. Meanwhile, Selena was most recently linked to musician and producer Zedd, who she collaborated with on her new album.
Following Diplo’s claims that her romance with Zedd was simply a publicity stunt, Selena came forward earlier this week to set the record straight about the nature of her relationship with the German DJ.
“I adore Anton [Zedd] a lot and I definitely had a thing with him, which was nice,” Selena said when asked about Diplo’s comments in an interview with New Zealand radios The Edge Afternoons.
