Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs has been arrested.

The 45-year-old hip hop mogul is father to six children and his 21-year-old son Justin Combs plays the defensive back position for his American football team at the University of California Los Angeles.

According to TMZ Sports, Diddy lost his cool with one of the coaches of Justin’s Bruins football club, which led to his arrest for assault by UCLA Campus Police on Monday afternoon.

Apparently Diddy, who was standing on the sidelines while the team practiced, witnessed the UCLA assistant coach yelling at Justin during a strength and conditioning session. Sources claim the coach “was riding Justin, screaming intensely at him” while the young man trained on the grassy field.

“At some point later, we're told Diddy confronted the coach in his office and grabbed him,” the websites writes, noting the businessman, who has an estimated net worth of $735 million, was taken into custody by Campus Police shortly after this alleged altercation.

Diddy was supposedly in fear for his son’s safety. Insiders tell the outlet he thought the coach was way too extreme.

“Diddy himself initially wanted to call police, but the phone was taken out of his hands,” TMZ writes.

UCLA released this statement regarding what happened with the Bad Boy Records hitmaker.

“Shortly after 12:30 PM today, Sean Combs (also known as P. Diddy) was arrested at UCLA’s Acosta Athletic Training Complex on a charge of assault with a deadly weapon, which was a kettlebell,” the university’s press release read. “No one was seriously injured and UCPD is investigating. Combs is expected to be transported to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Inmate Reception Center later this evening."
