Miley Cyrus refuses to end up with a "slob guy".

The 22-year-old singer spoke openly about her sexuality in her recent Paper magazine interview, saying she was "down" with dating any consenting adult.

Now she's taken the time to reflect on relationships, reasoning it's the male attitude that has caused her to become cynical about dating men. She recalled her date with a boy last Valentine's Day and the way she felt when she looked around at all the heterosexual couples.

“All the women in the restaurant were with these older, fat men that had just let themselves go. They were just being drunk b*****ds. And then the women were sitting there, trying so hard just to look good. And they’re ignoring them the whole time," she sighed to Time magazine, adding that it caused her to break down in tears.

"And I thought, ‘I’m not living like this.' If I end up in a straight relationship, that’s fine - but I’m not going to be with f**king slob guys who are watching porn, making all their girls feel ugly.”

Miley also said it's the "overly macho energy" that she can't stand when dating guys. However, she also fell foul of it while dating a woman, admitting she felt the need to "protect" her.

The star is an ambassador for the LGBT community and recently revealed her new #InstaPride campaign, which celebrates the stories of transgender people.

And there's a reason she's using the social networking site as her platform.

"It’s so bad. You look at Instagram and you think, ‘Oh, I don’t look that way.’ And it makes you feel like sh*t. You start scrolling and you see all these people you’ll never be like and they have so many followers and so many friends,” she explained. “That’s why we want to do it through Instagram—enough of these pictures. Let’s get some likes on some real pictures.”

Miley's message is clear: she wants everybody to have the chance to be themselves.

“People try to make everyone something. You can just be whatever you want to be," she encouraged.
