Zayn Malik's fiancée has joked she's always ready to hear they've split up.
The former One Direction star left the band in March, in part because he wanted to spend more time with his Little Mix girlfriend Perrie Edwards. There is constant speculation about when the pair, who got engaged in 2013, will tie the knot, and Perrie has got used to hearing increasingly outlandish rumours about them.
The star explained this when quizzed on where her engagement ring was during an appearance on British radio station Capital FM.
"I know! It's getting cleaned... I knew, I knew it was gonna happen today... Oh don't worry, tomorrow we'll probably not be together. We'll be separated. I'll be heartbroken, it will all be over," she joked.
In all seriousness, the star was fully aware that appearing without the piece of jewellery would cause something on a sensation. While she's not worried about the speculation, she does miss having the special band in place.
"You know what, I feel naked, it's horrible, you know when you get used to wearing something... but no, it's getting cleaned," she said.
One of the hosts then suggested Zayn could be trying to pull off a surprise, telling Perrie he was getting her jewellery cleaned when really he wanted to check her ring size so he could buy her something new.
The singer was seemingly unconvinced that was the case. "Well that would be lovely," was all she could say.
Perrie, 21, and Zayn, 22, have been together since 2012 and although they have been engaged for 18 months, they don't seem to be any closer to walking down the aisle. That hasn't stopped the rumours about their big day though, with recent claims they are planning to exchange vows at Disneyland Paris.
