Citadel, a new one-day spectacular celebrating the pleasures of a summer Sunday after-noon, has added a host of exciting new acts to its already impressive line-up.

Conceived and created by the award-winning Wilderness Festival and Superfly – co-creators of Bonnaroo and Outside Lands, two of America’s most prestigious festivals – Citadel will showcase a breadth of musical programming alongside dining, dancing, arts and culture experiences.

Now, the headliners of indie label and live promoter Communion and visionary promoters and tastemakers Soundcrash’s respective stages have been revealed. Topping the bill on the Communion stage will be the Mercury Prize-nominated folk singer-songwriter Nick Mulvey. The talented multi-instrumentalist, who appeared on the BBC’s Sound of 2014, has received widespread acclaim since the release of his debut album First Mind.

Meanwhile, the inimitable, genre-bending Swedish musician Neneh Cherry has been tapped by Soundcrash to head up their billing alongside her band Rocketnumbernine. Neneh recently returned to the limelight after an 18 year break with her Four Tet-produced LP Blank Project, which garnered critical plaudits.

Communion are also delighted to add rising gospel star Leon Bridges to their line-up. The musician, who hails from Texas, is responsible for one of the biggest hits of 2015 so far in the form of the epic ‘Coming Home’.

The Soundcrash stage will play host to Afrobeat warrior Seun Kuti, leading the famous Egypt 80 band.

Furthermore, the Communion stage will be brought to you in association with one of the UK’s best music publications DIY, whilst Soundcrash will be in association with pioneering music discovery service Last.fm.

The Park Bandstand, hosted by Continental Drifts & Global Local, has also unveiled its eclectic billing. Getting the crowds dancing will be New Orleans hip hop brass band The Brass Funkeys, Ceilidh collective Cut A Shine and progressive marching troupe Per-haps Contraption. The brilliant Rum Buffalo will also be entertaining the masses with their unique brand of theatricals, Bossa and Western swing, Lindy Hop maestros Swing Patrol will be teaching Citadel-goers how to move, whilst urban folk songwriter Theo Bard will also be in attendance.

Citadel are delighted to welcome Underbelly to the festival. The UK’s brightest entertain-ment company are already fixtures in London and at the Edinburgh festival and now they’ll be tickling Citadel-goers with a stellar line-up of comedy acts.

It wouldn’t be the ultimate summer Sunday without some leisurely afternoon sports. Cita-del Sports Day will feature fun for all the family, with Badminton, Croquet, Tug of War, Musical Sack Races, Giant Skipping Competitions, Relay Rum Races, and many more. Cheerleaders, mascots and medal award ceremonies will be sure to up the team spirit.

If you’re not the sporting type, never fear…seek out Citadel’s programme of workshops, ranging from swing dancing, body percussion and capoeira, through to chorus sing-ing and mass hula dance workouts.

The finest fashion and beauty boutiques will also be in attendance for Citadel-goers seek-ing sartorial gems. Dancing Leopard, Tallulah Minxy, OOTO Clothing and Tirade 13 will be purveying gorgeous garments whilst In Your Dreams, Miss Lippy, Gypsy East will be providing embellishments, beautiful jewellery and magical makeovers.

London’s most delicious food institutions will be on hand, from experts of all things pulled pork SMOKESTAK to pizza kings Voodoo Ray’s, via hot dog connoisseur PopDog and the modern Indian street food of Joho Soho.

Citadel’s headliners Ben Howard and Bombay Bicycle Club will be joined by US group Kurt Vile & the Violators with a UK festival exclusive, the brilliant Anna Calvi with help from The Heritage Orchestra, Doves frontman turned soloist Jimi Goodwin, Brooklyn-based vocalist Steve Gunn and folk-country hero Joe Pug.
