Berwick Street, Soho will be transformed into a mini music festival for the internationally renowned Record Store Day to celebrate the independent records stores in and around Berwick Street.

On Saturday 18th April a stage hosted by Shaun Keaveny (BBC 6 Music) will have live music performances from acclaimed and emerging artists throughout the day.

Limited edition vinyl and CD’s will be released exclusively on the day such as Madness 'Lovestruck' & 'Le Grand Pantalon' 7” vinyl complete with its own 3D pop-up theatre, a triangular shaped clear vinyl EP of ‘Gimmix’ by John Cooper Clark, a clear red heart shaped vinyl of ‘I Love You, Honeybee’ from Father John Misty or for those celebrating the 40th anniversary series of picture discs, David Bowie’s 1972 ‘Changes’ picture disc is a must-have this year.

Many of the releases will only be available in Berwick Street’s record stores and Sister Ray will be open from 8am this year to avoid disappointment!

Berwick Street has been a destination for vinyl record collectors since the 1980s when it became known as ‘The Golden Mile of Vinyl’.

This corner of Soho is still home to central London’s largest concentration of thriving independent record shops; Sister Ray, Reckless Records, and The Music and Video Exchange as well as Sounds of the Universe around the corner on Broadwick Street and Phonica on Poland Street.
